My Testimony: I was raised in a Christian home and always attended church growing up. I was always a super good kid and thought that being a good person believed that God is good was enough to make it into heaven! I never questioned anything until I got older, when life became more challenging. The summer after my freshman year of high school, One of my best friends died in a car accident. That was a critical event where I had never experienced anything like that before. I was mad at God and did not understand how a good God would let such evil exist in this world. I spent the next several years hating God, even though I would have kept saying I am a Christian to my family and friends, I did not want anything to do with God. I got to college as a freshman, and at that point, I would have called myself an atheist while still telling my family I was a believer, I lived a secular life freshman year and ended up with serious depression and questioning what the point of life was and why life was so unfulfilling or even worth living. After my horrible freshman year, My older brother, who I was not friends with at all, was involved in Campus Outreach, and he ended up going to Orlando Project. I knew that for my brother to be at a place like that, there must have been something awesome going on. In that following fall, I ended up starting to come to CO events, where I was introduced to a member of staff. We began meeting weekly and talking about life and the bible, and I realized that I had never understood the gospel or who Jesus was. He shared the gospel with me, and I began to read my bible and ask questions. After several months of this, I realized my condition as a sinner who has rebelled against God and understood the weight of my sin, and only through the perfect sacrifice of his son, Jesus, I could be saved through him. That is when I placed my faith in Jesus and have been walking with him since!
