Favorite Verse: “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24
My Testimony: I grew up in a Christian household and was blessed to have parents who wanted to share the gospel with me through the way they lived. I accepted Christ at a young age, but I never really learned how to share my faith, or truly how to study the Bible. I lacked confidence in my ability to share the Gospel to others and I did not surround myself with people who walked with the Lord. Going to college I wanted to get involved with a ministry group, but I got roped into the college life quickly. Many people from Campus Outreach (a ministry group on campus) continued to show interest in my life, and I finally saw what true community was in my spring semester of my freshman year of college. That following summer, I decided to go to the Orlando project where I found community, learned how to study the word, and share my faith. I really made my faith my own when I learned more about the weight my sin had on myself, others, and how much God despised sin. Even more, I learned to put my confidence in Christ alone. After the Orlando Project, I began to learn the importance of being grounded in The Word and having community to grow in accountability. I was asked to return to the Orlando project as a servant leader the next summer, where I was able to pour into others through discipleship while being poured into as well. During that time of service, I grew more than I ever have in vulnerability, accountability, community, and compassion and conviction for the lost. I am now actively sharing my faith on my college campus, living for the Lord, and excited to see how the Lord uses me to further His kingdom!
Why I want to go to CCP: I am looking forward to sharing the Gospel with people from a different country to fulfill Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always to the end of the age.” I have never been overseas, so I am excited to experience cultural differences and get out of my comfort zone. I am so excited to grow personally with our team, their staff and get to use the gifts God has given me to reach the lost!
