Favorite Verse: Jeremiah 17:5-8 "Thus says the LORD; "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the LORD. He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land. "Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD. He is like a tree planted by the water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.

My Testimony: All my life I would have considered myself to be a Christian. I grew up believing that God and Jesus were real, I had heard that Jesus died for my sins and I never questioned that. I never let that fact change the way I lived my life though. From a young age I set moralistic standards for myself of simply being a "good person", this was what I believed it took to make my way into heaven, along with believing that God existed. This same mindset followed me through into college, where I tried to find satisfaction in relationships, drinking, and partying. It was not until my junior year of college that the Gospel was clearly presented to me and began to make sense. I learned I could have a relationship with Jesus, and that is what would save me, not my good behavior. After years of hearing about the Gospel of God, it truly penetrated my heart and made me long to know this man Jesus, who died for me. With this new understanding and longing in to know God, I decided to place my trust in Christ. From that moment forward God truly replaced my heart of stone with a heart of flesh and newfound desires that longed to honor him with my life. The purpose and satisfaction I had been looking for all those years were all found in the person of Jesus Christ. I now know that my sole purpose in this world is to glorify God and to labor for the sake of his kingdom.
