Brooke’s Testimony: I grew up in a Christian home and regularly attended church, but I did not have a personal relationship with God that extended beyond Sunday mornings. I tied a lot of my worth in attempting to be perfect through academics, leadership positions, and trying to be a good person. When I came to college, I quickly realized that many things I had placed my worth in no longer mattered and instead turned to relationships and typical college culture to find my worth and satisfaction.

During the spring semester of my freshman year, my roommate began to ask me lots of intentional questions about my life and introduced me to Campus Outreach. In March 2020, COVID hit and we were sent home from college, and I was left isolated from all the things I was attempting to seek satisfaction in. A few months later, I decided to sign up for Campus Outreach’s Indy Leadership Project, and I began to investigate what it looked like to have a personal relationship with Jesus. For the first time, I realized that my sin had separated me from God and no matter how hard I strived for perfection, my own works would never be enough.
